Classes were good...the surprise incident.

The 11 am class went smoothly until one of my students told me needed to go to the bathroom, I told him to go, but he wanted me to come into the hallway and he promptly had a gran mal seizure. I tired to get him on the chair and he slid off. I tried to hold onto him and ended up leaping over him to not fall on him. I held onto him to keep his head from hitting the floor. One student said don't let his head hit the floor. I said "come help me" and they did! We got a nurse and an emt to come help until the ambulance got there.

He was doing better by the time the ambulance got there. Had another class and then went to sell tickets. That went fro 3 to 7.

I am exhausted...good night! emoticon

It's good he knew the feelings and didn't go into bathroom alone and bang his head..glad you were there for him... scarey for you I bet. I was out with a friend of a friend many, many years ago, when she took a grand mal. WE were coming out of a dance and everyone thought she was drunk. Luckily my friend had mentioned that she used to be on drugs for epilepsy, so I kind of knew to tell the EMT's that. She hadn't had a seizure in years, so stopped taking her drugs and didn't remember a thing about it...

don;t need excitement like that every day.

Wow, that sounds scary! Bet you never had that happen in your years of h.s. teaching. The worst that happened to me was when someone came to class intoxicated and almost passed out. Such are the trials of teaching...
