Day 790- Temporary Maintenance Mode

Voted Popular Blog Post: View All Popular Posts

Thursday, January 30, 2014

Hello All,

I have entered temporary maintenance mode. I do not intend to stay here for long, but with the major transitions, preparing to leave my current job, and move to start my new one, I've had a lot going on. I'm eating well, but not going to the gym as often as I need to, to be in weight loss mode, so I'm just sort of maintaining at my normal 180 mark.

I did go to the gym last night and ran a treadmill mile at 7mph, which shocked me. I'd never run that fast on a treadmill for that distance, so I was impressed. However my calf did cramp up during my walking cool down so I need to focus on making sure to get my water in.

When I get started at my new job, I intend to set up a workout routine as well as pack my lunches so I think I'll be able to jump start my weight loss and maybe hit the 160s by mid-April? That's my goal for right now. My wedding dress is set to come in in April, so I'd love to be closer to goal weight when that happens.

As for right now, I'm working incredibly hard to create a manual to give to the next person in my job, so they are more prepared for the position and able to transition a little easier than I was when I started back in August.

As always, thank you for all your love and support SparkFriends. You truly do mean the world to me!

How nice that is to create a manual for the person who fills your position at your current job, positive vibes indeed! A lot of times jobs can be a lot to deal with since the employer rarely thinks to provide a manual and you are flying blind at your work for however long it takes you to get up to speed. Congrats on the treadmill success as well and hopefully by the time your wedding dress comes you will be ready for it~

What a great plan! Stay stable with weight/health while working through instability in other aspects of your life.

I look forward to hearing about / seeing pics of the wedding dress!

That is a great idea. I think my stress levels would come down if I wasn't tacking on my goals for healthier lifestyle changes. I decided to scale back on the momentum I was trying to move forward and just tow the line where I'm at until I can fit in a little bit more. Not a permanent thing...just temporary until things calm down.

Glad things are going well for you - and what a nice thing you are doing, making it easier for your replacement when he/she arrives! I wish someone had done that for me for some of my jobs through the years.

A temporary maintenance program when one is so busy is much better than a gain. I am usually happy when I hit a plateau and don't do the gaining and eventually begin again. You will do well as you have be doing!!!
