Movie review..Wolf on Wall Street

Thursday, January 30, 2014

Well I must say it was pretty racy and tons of T & A. It was a long movie as well. It was based on a true story which really shocks me. the story is about Jordan Belfort who rises up to a wealthy stock broker who live the high life. Lots of corruption and such. What a crazy life. It certainly kept my interest....but be ready for tons of foul language and crazy things. Hard to believe that was their lifestyle...but then I remember a company(headhunters or executive search firm) that really wanted me to come and work for their company. I remember that the people there made a ton of money. But I also remember turning it down when someone on "the inside" told me that they lived everyday doing cocaine and that is why everyone was so "high" and worked incredible hours. So glad I turned that down and didn't go that way. One of the guys actually ended up in jail. Someone was looking out for me then...that was in the 80's as well.

Today is facial day so happy about that.
I hope you all are warm and snug. Have a terrific day.
Sallie

It was truly decadent. The real Jordan only served 22 months and he is a motivational speaker now. The film was well done if disgusting decadence is what people want to see. Not America's finest hour. emoticon

I may go see this movie if things work out. How did we ever get through the 80's?

Hard to find a movie today that does not have foul language and skin. When you stop and think there are so many lifestyles that as we get older we are happy we did not choose.

Enjoy your facial.

Thanks for your review Sallie. I saw it last Saturday
and the cocaine use was really full on as was the
language. I did enjoy it and was good to see our
Gold Coast girl, Margo Robbie, trying her
American accent.

It was good to see someone looked out for you all those
years ago. I was in a position where I saw that lifestyle
and wondered why I never got promoted etc...
I just didn't want to get into the drug habit and I left
after only a year and I don't regret it as that would have
been a spiral that would have beenso hard to get out of.
Shows the power and the ugly side of money and all its
trimmings and indulgences. Not real is it? Not for me.
No thanks. Have a great pamper session and a great Friday.

That is so awesome that you have a strong core within you to turn down an awesome paying job where most people would go for it even though everyone was flying high !! I bet there are many company's out there like that .
I am up for a facial also, I need something to perk me up with all this bitter cold weather.
take care
Judy

    I liked this movie too...
Watched with kids and hubby and while I found it incredibly funny (in a horrible way), I admired the way it pictured the trap of addictions these people lived in: money, gambling, alcohol, drugs, sex...

So glad you dodged that lifestyle! I really don't like hearing the foul language and seeing gratuitous nudity. So I doubt I will be seeing that one.. Is it no wonder I enjoy the movies on Turner classic..
Enjoy your pampering!

Thanks for the review! Sounds like an interesting movie but like you I don't care for the foul language that seems to be the norm nowadays.
Enjoy your facial and nice weather. We should get close to 80F again today and then it cools down a little to mid 70's for the weekend and most of next week. Love my sunshine!!

My dd saw it and said it was as close to pornography as she had ever seen in a theater.
Not my cup of tea!
Have a wonderful day.

What a really fascinating story, Sallie - yours, more than the movie's! I've always believed reality is more compelling than any kind of book/movie fiction. The people who pen these screenplays have to get their inspiration somewhere, and I always suspect it's real life emoticon
