A huge thank you to those who sent me feel-good goodies or a note.
Kaseycoff: I chose decaf green tea,, drank a whole pot too!
It must have been a 24 hour cootie that crept into me while I was not looking. I usually am very careful ..I wipe doorknobs at home and work, wash my hands in stores before touching anything, etc. If I thought the subzero air would not freeze the interior of my home, I would open all the windows and doors for a few minutes..
I went back to work today,, Vito told me it was six below zero IN MY GARAGE! By the time I got to work it was zero..
Chicago held -40 degrees yesterday.. dang, The bright side to all of this is hopefully, the farmers will have enough snow-melt to till and sow without flooding and enough to get those seeds a good beginning. Michigan is a huge supplier of soybeans, corn and sugar beets, having two of the largest sugar beet factories in the Midwest. One is in our town,, the subject of Madonna Ciccone's snarky remark about our "Smelly little town". Her grandma, Madonna, lived here all her life and she loved it here..
Our other claim to fame in my town is being the birthplace of John List and his family. The family storefront name is still there in a cement stone over the front door. Creepy factoid..
Jeff Daniels was here last weekend for two nights of concerts in our historic State Theater. He is also from Michigan,:Chelsea,MI. South of here..
The Bay City Rollers is named for our town, Kid Rock and Mitch Ryder, all of the Motown groups hail from Detroit, 110 miles from here...
All of these famous people here and I saw not one star when I spent a whole month in California!! MY brush with fame out there had to be taking DD picture with SOMEBODY'S Lamborghini behind the Hollywood Wax Museum in 1988.
Anybody out there have a brush with greatness?
