A huge thank you to those who sent me feel-good goodies or a note.
Kaseycoff: I chose decaf green tea,, drank a whole pot too!
It must have been a 24 hour cootie that crept into me while I was not looking. I usually am very careful ..I wipe doorknobs at home and work, wash my hands in stores before touching anything, etc. If I thought the subzero air would not freeze the interior of my home, I would open all the windows and doors for a few minutes..
I went back to work today,, Vito told me it was six below zero IN MY GARAGE! By the time I got to work it was zero..

Chicago held -40 degrees yesterday.. dang, The bright side to all of this is hopefully, the farmers will have enough snow-melt to till and sow without flooding and enough to get those seeds a good beginning. Michigan is a huge supplier of soybeans, corn and sugar beets, having two of the largest sugar beet factories in the Midwest. One is in our town,, the subject of Madonna Ciccone's snarky remark about our "Smelly little town". Her grandma, Madonna, lived here all her life and she loved it here..

Our other claim to fame in my town is being the birthplace of John List and his family. The family storefront name is still there in a cement stone over the front door. Creepy factoid..

Jeff Daniels was here last weekend for two nights of concerts in our historic State Theater. He is also from Michigan,:Chelsea,MI. South of here..

The Bay City Rollers is named for our town, Kid Rock and Mitch Ryder, all of the Motown groups hail from Detroit, 110 miles from here...

All of these famous people here and I saw not one star when I spent a whole month in California!! MY brush with fame out there had to be taking DD picture with SOMEBODY'S Lamborghini behind the Hollywood Wax Museum in 1988.
Anybody out there have a brush with greatness?

Don't worry, I am with you! I got the flu this year for the first time since I was about 9 years old! I too am always sanitizing my hands and trying to stay germ-free. But, I guess I got unlucky this time.

Funny story though - my Doctor always told me not to get the flu shot because I have a great immune system. When I got the flu this year, I didn't go see him because I figured it'd just work its way out, which it did. I had an appointment with him a month later, and when I told him I had it, he says, "Didn't you get a flu shot?" to which I answered, "No", and to which he said, "Why not?"

Apparently, his view on the flu shot changed! :P

And oh yes! My thermometer in my car today read -1 my whole drive to work. I'm a little behind you! :)

My closest brushes with the famous were both people from local TV news stations. Years ago, I worked as a cashier; when I worked in a grocery store, I waited on a weatherman from the Cadillac news; I was surprised to see him in our small town of Big Rapids. Another time, and in another store, I sold some Max Factor pancake makeup to one of the male news anchors from WZZM in Grand Rapids.

Hi there I know I am missing. So sorry LINDA. I have been trying to catch up but I am still doing too much computer. I am trying to learn to use it. I am getting there but now I have to have a cardiology work up. MY BP is suddenly very high. Bear with me. I cannot abide just saying help and goodbye so I spend too much time on each comment.
I was almost run over by the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh in my home town. Long story, HUGS Pat in Maine.
I hope you are feeling well enough for work. Take care, stay well.

Brush with local greatness perhaps? I ran into Dennis Neubacher, the Channel 7 Traffic Copter pilot in 2000 and we've remained friends ever since.

We have autographed bowling pins and bowled in a hi-lo doubles game with bowling legend Mark Roth years ago.

Other than that, not really.

Glad you are feeling better!
