Blessings in disguise.

Most of you know that right now, hubby & I are going through some trials since his mom had a massive stroke just before the new year. There are a whole lot of not-so-good things going on. She didn't leave us with a power of attorney, so we're hitting some roadblocks here & there. Sometimes we get calls really late at night or early in the morning that she has tried to get out of bed (she can't walk, but she's one heck of a determined lady).
But there are also some good things going on. It appears that God has answered our prayers about the financial situation. The facility was asking us for $$ until the Medicaid could kick in, and we really don't have $$ to spare. But we got word that the Medicaid is going to kick in earlier than anticipated & that's a huge relief.
Also, we get to see Pat more because she's close to us now (we had her moved from her town to ours for rehab). Most of the time she knows we're there & she appreciates our presence (though she doesn't care much for her current location -- she's a free spirit).
One of the most important blessings to me during all this is that hubby & I are closer. We've been married for almost 20 years & we don't have kids, so you kinda tend to get into a little comfortable rut after a time. This situation has shaken us up a bit & we've had to scramble -- together -- to get through this difficult time. We've had to be strong for each other & work together to figure out what is best for his mom. I think our marriage is stronger as a result.
So even through the trials of life, there are blessings in disguise. Be sure to look for them.
Blessings to you!!
