Week Five: Aargh.
Wednesday, January 29, 2014
Today was a debilitating day. I was tired and my back started to act up before I headed to bed last night. When I woke it was very painful and I called in for a substitute, it’s okay since at this time I’m light duty. Still that means since my injuries from this boy I have missed five days of school this month. That’s like a full week of school and we’ve had three days off as holidays and teacher work days.
I stayed home and rested. I went to my second jobs thinking it would be so light of duties, which was correct however one client doesn’t have furniture right now and we are sitting on his floor and it flared up my back. I was in a lot of pain from that, nauseating pain. It’s been a constant since 2:45. It hasn’t let up. I’m hoping it does for tomorrow because I can’t afford to miss more work. I called my supervisor to tell her I was going to stop working with him because of that and a few other things but instead changed my mind and figured I’d try to problem solve this. I gave her my hours available for February. That will help a lot, only twice a week. My problem solving is since he doesn’t have a good place for me to sit I am going to bring my stability ball. I’m sure it will work and I can work on my core a little, plus do stretches with my back. He really needs me around. I’ve had a long history with him as a client and he is comfortable with me. I think this will work out.
I was able to go my deep water class. I didn't feel good but I felt so proud of myself. I did have to modify moves, no water crunches and no legs up in a v. I bicycled those times. I was able to keep up with everything but after class the instructor said she knew something was going on with me. I told her about my back issues. She was the only one that didn't know. Now they all know.
Plans for tomorrow:
Massage Therapy, and
Five things I'm grateful for:
1. Willing Substitutes.
3. Fresh Clean Water to drink.
4. Lemons, I use them daily for my water and for my hair.
5. My cat. She’s my pal. I’ve had her for 17 years and she my first pet.
