Today we finally made it back to the gym after being out again for my back. My incision seems to have closed but when I stretch it too much, it breaks open again. My doctor said it was okay to workout, so I am listening to her and hoping it heals okay. Patience isn't my strongest attribute to the world. ha-ha Another nice feature was when we woke up, the temperature was around 40 and then rose to 54F just before lunch. It declined drastically after lunch going close to negative numbers but Furry Baby and I got out for a nice long walk - a true blessing this time of the year. I found myself sighing a lot throughout the walk since it just felt so good! Anyone else get out that hasn't been able to?
Breakfast: Oatmeal with added flaxseeds & 1 tsp brown sugar, coffee and vegan multivitamins - nothing too exciting here.
Exercise: Walk with the furry pup 1.38 miles in around 40 minutes.
Snack: None since I was really busy and lost track of time. I did have a nice cup of green tea.
Lunch: Leftover cauliflower and 'chez' with lots of peas... mmm
Snack: Sesame sticks - grrr so addicting
Dinner: Homemade Australian Vegan Sausage Rolls (no sausage inside) with side of brussels sprouts, onion and celery seasoned with coconut balsalmic vinaigrette.
Snack: Chinese plantain strips cooked with sugar
Exercise: Tonight we made it through the cold to the gym. We did 30 minutes weight lifting with breaks in between sets. During breaks I did 30 situps each time on the exercise ball. Then I did 1 mile in 10 minutes on the treadmill (just testing my back pain level) and then 20 minutes on the elliptical trainer. My back ended up breaking open again but it didn't seem to hurt too much. Yay! Nice to be back into it.
