So I finally got to join the gym on Friday. So I did a run on Saturday and Sunday in training for the half marathon. It is a walk/run challenge so I am just training to do both walk and run. Not for time but more to feel like I cam accomplish it without my hips going out. When I completed my 13.1 last year it took me 3 hrs 15 minutes and it was the last three miles that killed me, my hips and hamstrings started to seize but I refused to give up. This time I would like to feel like I was successful.
Monday was my first class, it was a interval class and I hated it. I hate squats and lunges as they hurt my knees, but I think it is because they are hard I don't like them. She put in a lot of cardio and due to my elevation adjustment I felt like I was struggling too much. will I do it again. Of course. It isn't suppose to be easy, the harder it is the more likely I will push myself harder. Now not all things will be so hard, but having a few challenging classes is a good thing. When we get better the sense of accomplishment cannot be matched.
Tonight is a different strength class and belly dancing. Let's do this. Strap on your shoes.
