Relearning the value of a pedometer
Monday, January 27, 2014
My boyfriend bought me a Withings Pulse, which is a device that I understand to have similar functions to a Fitbit. I will be giving it a go for awhile. http://www.withings.com/pulse
Over 16000 steps (including a treadmill workout session) logged today on my Pulse. I used to have a pedometer and have missed having the motivation of trying to reach at least 10,000 steps per day. Back when I was using a pedometer before I made that goal or exceeded it at least 6 out of seven days and I was losing weight alot easier. Yesterday I hit only 5000-ish so I can see that my non-workout days need to still be slightly less lazy. It is easy to see why (in addition to increased un-healthy eating) I gained some back. Hopefully having this tool will help me regain momentum!
I did not manage to fulfill the January Jumpstart challenge but I am involved in another challenge with some facebook friends and am still plugging away at the goal of feeling better in my bridesmaid dress. There I have already made some progress. I dumped some bloating and the dress fit much more comfortably when it came in than it did during the initial try on.
