Plank Challenge

I've been doing the plank challenge for the past few weeks. I was ecstatic when I conquered the 90 second plank, but was kind of feeling doomed when I got up to the 2 minute plank. I tried yesterday - 3 different times - and ultimately failed. I was feeling so bummed. I couldn't even do the 90 second plank. It has a rest day every 7 days, and I had skipped my rest day the week before, because I just feel weaker if I do. Due to my unexpected, very busy weekend, I took 2 days off. That was probably why I failed, minus the fact I had the "There's no way I can do this" mentality.

I attempted the 2 minute plank today before my workout and told myself that I could! I blocked out the I can'ts the best that I could, and I DID IT!!!! I'm a champion!! emoticon I conquered that mofo and it took me about 10 minutes to get up off the floor. lol

I guess what I've learned from this is - if you have the "I can't" mentality, well, you just won't do it. It's important to take rests, but if you go a bit too long, don't be discouraged the day you go back to things. It's easy to jump back on the horse. I want to succeed so bad at things, and I just need to learn not to mentally beat myself up if I can't do it one day - the next is always better! Keep moving forward no matter what.
