Another Day Off So I Took a Long Walk, Sort Of

Monday, January 27, 2014

School was canceled again today and I've already gotten the call for tomorrow too. We were doing final exams last week and still have 1 day left of exams. When we get back those poor kids will still have to take those exams and move on. The school year is half over.

Today was a 3 movie day. (what else do I have to do on a icky day). I finished "Leap Year" this morning. I really like that movie. It just makes me feel good and only reinforces my desire to one day visit Ireland. Then after lunch I took a library movie down to watch that I had brought home last week for DH. "American Brew" is about, you guessed it - Beer! Actually is was more interesting that expected since it talked about prohibition too and how beer changed over the years, from when it first arrived with the colonists to current day and the craft beer rage. I will have to pay more attention to the nonfiction movies at the library and educate myself while I am also working on getting in shape physically. My last movie of the day was the classic "When Harry Met Sally." What's not to like about that one. Bruno Kirby, Princess Leia, Billy Crystal, Meg Ryan. I even recognized Steven Ford, former President Ford's son, in the movie. Wonder whatever happened to him? Anyway it made me want to see "City Slickers" again so I will look for it next time I go to the library. I was also able to get 22,000 steps in. I can't hardly believe it myself. And I did it all inside.

It is still early and DH hasn't made it home yet in the awful weather. He will be working from home for the next 2 days because of the expected low temps. He did that during the last polar vortex and he actually got a lot done. I will have to try to either beat or match today's record.
