That moment when...

Monday, January 27, 2014

If this was a Facebook status, it would read, "That moment when you skip out of work early to run to the store and come face-to-face with your supervisor who was supposed to be working at home". Oops!

It was gym day today. As long as it doesn't rain tomorrow, Molly (and hopefully, Rich) and I will walk before I go into work. I am not going in until well afternoon tomorrow because I have a meeting tomorrow night that means I won't get home until about 9:30. Yesterday, Rich walked to the store with us, then turned around and headed home while Molly and I completed our 5 miles. He got in about 1/4 mile. BUT HE WALKED! I was proud of him, even though practically took dynamite to get him to move. He did say that he needed to do it and was glad that he did.

Tonight we are going with friends to a country-western gospel concert at Rich's cousins' church.

Until tomorrow, dear friends!

With a bit of luck it will give him the confidence to do it again, and maybe the impetus to do a little more.

YAY for Rich! As you well know, it's getting in the habit of exercise that does it. What a great start for him!

Hope you're getting some rain too . . . Great that Rich went for a walk with you. Yes, a quarter mile is better than nothing. My DH does a 10 minute power walk on both his morning and afternoon breaks at work. He also has an assortment of stretches he can do at work.

Sounds like Mollie is in a better space too. You girls rock!!!

Hey, a quarter mile is a starting point. When I first started walking again after I hurt my hip, that's probably about what I did--it was all I was *able* to do. Now during the summer I typically average about 2 miles (I confess this winter it's been somewhat less than that, both because of the weather and because school work has cut into my workout time). I can walk, though not daily, 5-6 miles.

So, yeah, whoo hoo for a quarter mile!
