A while back I went TV free for a period of time. I realized that I am an extreme TV-holic. I would find myself subconsciously reaching for the remote. While I was successful in keeping the TV off during that time. Once the period of time was over I went right back to watching non-stop.
An example of how bad we are. Last night my roommate was on her computer with her earbuds in, watching Youtube. I had my earbuds in, listening to music while I did the dishes. And yep, the TV was on. We even had it on Netflix and each time an episode would end we'd jump for the remote and put on the next episode, even though neither of us had watched the last episode.
Well, I had the urge this morning to give the Kill the TV idea, another shot. My goal is to find things after work and on the weekends that requires more activity then simply being awake.
Perhaps I'll start hanging out at the coffee house, rather then going straight home. Or I'll do some of that sorting and organizing I've been meaning to do since before the Jurassic period. Perhaps I'll teach myself some new skill. Or I'll finish reading those ten books I've started. There's a whole list.
