SO i got a diet cookbook at the library and brought it home to try some of the stuff in it. It all looked good and was normal stuff (not like some of these other crzy recipes). Who eats some of this stuff anyways... baked fish with avacado and pineapple marinade wrapped in phillo dough and covered in honey... really? sounds gross... looks gross.. not eating it.
so I started to make some of the recipes and everyone in my family liked them (with a little change here and there they liked the ones I tried). well, like all books you only get to have it for 2 weeks and then you have to give it back. but the problem was I liked it so much I didn't want to give it back but I did.
That same night the movie julie and julia was on t.v., and I decided that I was going to do that only a healthy version. So i went on a search for my book. I knew that I wanted to one from the library but the book stores around me didn't sell it, so I bought it from amazon.
Thoughout the book it offers a variety of tidbits and general hints and tips about weight loss and how to eat better and a whole chapter at the beginning about exercise. I have read it all and have decided that I will make my own combinations from the book but every meal we eat will come out of this book. This will be the easiest way to make sure that its healthy and then I can write in the book who like what and why the didn't so the suggestions and feedback I'm getting I can adjust the recipes as needed and try- try again.
So far we are doing great and I have decided that this is such a cool way to introduce new things to our life as well as making them healthy. I'm liking this so far and have bought alot of groceries to keep going. Wish me luck!
