What Is It About the Pool?

Sunday, January 26, 2014

I have to say, I love, love, love the pool! Chlorine is my perfume! I love the smell of it! I love how easily I can move in the water and I love how tired I feel after a good aqua workout!

I went to the Y to a water aerobics class today. I got in the pool early so I was able to get a full 60 minute workout in addition to the stretching and balance segment at the end. It felt glorious! I am a true water baby! I wish I had an indoor pool at home! The thought of romping in the pool while snow falls (as if) around me, or the cold temps fog up the glass, well it makes me feel all tickley inside! But, can't afford all that, so to the Y I go! I am fortunate enough to have a pool in my backyard and in summer, that is where you will find me! I love it! I really do!

So, today I did my own little workout before class started, then worked out with the class. I came out of the pool feeling shakey and sweaty. Signs of a low blood sugar! And, yes it was low! So, it makes me wonder because that happens at home sometimes too. I have to be very careful to eat right and watch my blood sugar when in the pool! I work out at home. I work out at Curves. I belly dance. I walk. But, nothing wears me out and burns up blood glucose like the water! I always thought it was the combo of exercise and sun in summer, but I think it is water. I feel so sleepy right now and had the low blood sugar and all I've really done is the water aerobics so far.

I wonder what burns me up so much? I am pleasantly sleepy. I feel good. But, I am also HUNGRY! Water aerobics doesn't seem to burn as many calories as other stuff, but nothing tires me as much or makes me as hungry!

When I hit the lottery I'm building an inground, indoor/outdoor pool! I'll be thin and healthy! Or, I'll be dead! SEriously, it zaps my blood sugar! If it does kill me, well I will die with a smile on my face!

It's been a great weekend! I ended up at Curves for the first time all week on Saturday and went to the pool today. I've walked all weekend to get my mileage in and have a yoga session planned for this evening. Hopefully Sassy will join me. Life is good!!

I love the pool too! My 6 year old takes swim lessons in an indoor pool and I am so jealous of him because he gets to swim all of the time! It's such a great workout too!

Swimming always makes me hungry and tired. Some day I hope to have my own pool too.

When I do water aerobics class I go through at least two bottles of water. I find it intense and love the feeling I have afterwards. I do ATS belly dance and that helps with muscle toning. I love being in the pool too although its been awhile.

Ditto the love. Water has 9 times the resistance of moving in air, that may be why you feel like you're getting a good workout.

I love the pool, too, but I don't have access to one. :( My son is in the middle of swim season right now, so I spend a lot of time sitting and looking at pools and wishing that I could be using them.

Enjoy your Y swim time and watch that blood sugar. I would love to hear that you've won the lottery and built your dream pool some day. That is going on my dream list, too.

I love swimming and the water too, and if I hit the lotto a pool would be a must in my new pad.

Have a wonderful day

What great imagery - swimming in an indoor pool with snow flurries outside. I love a pool, also, but don't have access to one, so I will live vicariously thru you.
Have fun at yoga!

I love the pool too. I wish I had one. I think its the painless resistance that works so well.
