Let it snow!

Sunday, January 26, 2014

We've gotten about 8 inches of snow here, and though the weather report says we should be done, it's still coming down. Everyone I know is complaining on Facebook about the terrible weather.

Secretly? I'm delighted. Yes, it's awful for driving. Yes, it makes walking the dog much more of a challenge. Yes, we have been hunkered down and hibernating all weekend.

But honestly, I love it. I'd love it more if it snowed 2 feet. I love me some real weather. It feels like a bit of an adventure, even though I'm warm and snug in my house, safe from the actual weather.

I have my front curtains open (something that never happens here) to let in the light and to watch the snow fall. Yes, in a while I will have to bundle up and fire up the snow blower. But I'm okay with that. Let it snow!

Good for you. It helps if we can be happy with what we have. And it's really nice if what we have is what makes us happy. emoticon

We have 50mph winds right now and we have high winds a lot. I've learned to be happy whether it's windy or not and it makes life much more enjoyable around here.

The key, with weather, is to have the right kind of clothing for the weather. emoticon

MissG~ Yes, I admit that it is pretty. And if I can stay home, warn and light the fireplace, I feel much better. I don't mind shoveling too much as long as the it isn't bitter cold out; I call it fitness minutes emoticon

Thanks for the reminders of the positive stuff emoticon

I'm with you. I love Weather. Huge snow storms, especially. We've had plenty of snow in New England, but we haven't had a huge honking storm like our 2 feet of snow last February. The cold weather is a nuisance, but fun, too. Working with the homeless and vulnerable poor, I worry about long spells of cold weather because that means bad, bad outcomes for them. But we do what we can to make sure they get inside and their houses are warm.
