Making the best of being snowbound...

Saturday, January 25, 2014

Today's word of the day is: "Netflix"! Bless Netflix! Dh and I have sat here snuggled up all day watching documentaries about Stonehenge and the Ancient Mayans and random other things. It's cold and there's several inches of snow, so we're stuck inside. I'm pretty bummed about missing my swimming lesson, but for being snowed in, it has been a pretty good day. It worked out nicely that dh is off this weekend and we've had the whole day to spend together doing nothing of significance, but having fun anyway. I'm so lucky to be married to a man just as nerdy as me!

My eating has been so-so today. I made lunch, but got defeated by it being too spicy. So I nibbled on some cheese and crackers, some veggies and hummus and a sandwich. And I made mugs of cocoa for us. It's definitely a cocoa kind of day. I'm gonna have some strawberries and cottage cheese and some popcorn later, to go with more documentaries.

Looks like I'm gonna be stuck inside tomorrow, too. We're under a Winter Weather Advisory til 7 am Monday morning. That's forever! I'm thankful it's happening over the weekend so fewer people have to be out in it, and I'm especially thankful dh is off and staying here with me all night instead of having to get out in it and go to work tonight. But man... I am REALLY tired of winter.

If the weather doesn't change, and WOW are my fingers crossed, I should be able to get back to the community center for a workout on Monday. I really hope so. If I can't get to the gym, then I'm definitely gonna do a workout video to get in some movement. I'm hoping for a break in the snow, though. It's going to be bitter cold next week, but I can deal with that if there just isn't a bunch of crappy weather to go with it. Right now it's looking okay, so hopefully it won't change.

For now I'm heading back to the futon with dh to start the documentary about Pompeii. Hope everyone is staying safe and warm this weekend!

Glad you've got some good quality time with the hubs! I slept for an hour on mine's lap while Iron Man 3 was on. Crash and burn! Good luck getting to the gym!

I hate the crappy weather myself. i was delayed an extra day coming back to work this past week. Al Flights out of my City were cancelled on Wednesday due to a big snowstorm. We had about 2 feet of snow down during that one. Ugghh. It was 30 degrees when i arrived in Trinidad. Not as good a change as one might think. I thought i was going to die of heat exhaustion.

Yes, Let's hope this weather changes soon and Spring comes early. This weather just stinks. It is so cold and windy and I am pretty darn sick of it!
Stay warm and have a nice weekend with your husband!

We drove on icy roads 2 hours each way to and from an all day table tennis tournament.
What a great day.

I'm glad you & the hubby were able to make the most of the snow day. Sounds like what my husband & I would do too. We love documentaries!
