"I dream of a better world where chickens can cross the road without having their motives questioned." No, I didn't say it first, and do not know who did, or I would credit them. If anyone knows, I will edit this and add the info.
That said, I dream of a world where my body craves vegetables, not fats. And a world where I actually prefer to warm up by doing an hour exercising, instead of doing time under the electric blanket. I dream of a world where I can sense what my body needs to eat, not what it wants to eat. I dream of a world where a diet could either be used to remove pounds...or could be used to add height.
And, as long as I am dreaming, how about from birth to about 15 years old, we live with the genetic mix we got at birth, but then we can pick and choose? Still the same parents, but now we can switch to Dad's athleticism and Mom's luxurious hair. No? Oh well.
Think these are impossible dreams? We walk around with phones the size of a deck of cards that take photos and send them around the world in seconds. We put food in an appliance that is smart enough to cook in minutes, yet not warm up the paper plate. If we live alone, we can push on a button around our neck to summon help directed to us from many states away when we fall and can't get up. Our knee wears out? Put in a new one. Problem with heartbeat? Get a pacemaker that regulates it. We can literally drive across the United States, taking directions from a voice in a machine in the car.....that knows where we are because a satellite in the sky tells it our location and also tattles when we decide to ignore instructions and turn into McDonald's instead telling us, "Reconfiguring." (Yeah, like I am going to obey voices from space.)
My next dream? Something that does not demand calories in being less than calories out. Why not?
