I am proud of myself today..

Today at work a co worker brought in her food it looked delish but not healthy..I said I am sorry but lately have not been feeling well due to my high bp.. so I am eating healthy ... she said are you sure I said tempting but no thanks...I went for a walk on my lunch break.. felt good .. you know I even put on a smile while walking... had my lunch the one I brought from home .. ate it and it was equally delish.. had some cold lentil salad.. with a cup of cherry tomatoes and yogurt...I can and am proud of myself for not letting others make me feel bad and giving in to their food.... I know that they thought of me when they were preparing it but I can not give up on making helahty choices for me and my bp...want to live without limitation for my family and me as well...

    Smart lady!

I actually had somebody say to me (without knowing how telling this was), 'OH, that's why you're so picking with food when everybody brings it in' when she learnt I have Celiac.

Yeah. I'm just a snob. I'm a rude person and your food's not good enough for me.

I *always* say, 'Oh, I wish I could but I can't because of my disease.' They hear, 'I'm a big fat jerk who thinks she's better.' It's hard but you know what? I was SO impressed that this lady ASKED. If they ask, they may be able to understand but you can't 'tell' them, they won't hear.

    emoticon Meeting temptation and saying No politely but firmly and sticking to it is good. Doing it for a week will let everyone know that you mean it! emoticon
