The first thing

Thursday, January 23, 2014

When I opened my email today, the first thing that caught my eye was a Spark email highlighting a message board topic:"What was the first thing you changed?"

This got me thinking...the first thing I changed was my attitude about perfection. I was taught that if you can't do something perfectly on the first try, don't do it at all. This definitely set me up for many years of self hatred and impatience at my inability to have "will power".

Now, I am mindful every day (even on the days where I eat inappropriately) that just because I keep trying, I am successful. This has made the largest difference in my life, ever.

What was your "first thing"?

I changed my organization first. Brought out a notebook and placed it smack dab in the middle of my counter so I could log EVERYTHING.

Perfectionism is something that I've had to work on too! It can be paralyzing IF we don't work on it . . . failures are lessons learned in how NOT to do something . . . then you re-tool!

Great blog and thanks. HUGS
