A little bummed

I know I shouldn't do it but I weigh myself every day. I got on the scale this am and gained another pound emoticon That's up 2 pounds since Monday. I was feeling so good on Monday too since I had hit my goal for the week. I know I have to keep telling myself it fluctuates but it's just annoying. I have been eating in my calorie count even on the lower side and hitting the treadmill for an hour each night ughhhh. I almost feel like why exercise if I don't see any benefit. I know most would say don't weigh yourself every day then if it's upsetting . For me it kind of keeps me more on track. If I weigh in at the end of the week or even the month and it's not good then I feel like I lost all that time. Where if I do it every day then I can adjust a bit and keep on track. It also helps me identify things/foods that effect my body. I'm not giving up just whining a bit this morning emoticon

    I weigh every day, too, and for the same reasons you mentioned. It can be frustrating to see those gains when you are doing all the right things, but rest assured that this, too, shall pass and you'll see the scales go down again. Hang in there! emoticon

    I weigh every day, and it's a motivator for me. Just gotta remember that "your weight will fluctuate" is not just a cliche -- it's true, and it will fluctuate even if you're doing everything "right."

    I know what you're saying. I used to weigh every day but had to stop because I was letting it dictate my mood. I would be jubilant on the days that showed a loss and down right depressed on the days that showed a gain (or even no movement at all!) I know weigh 2-3 times a week. Keeps me from getting too obsessive about it. emoticon

    Since weight fluctuates day to day I only weigh in weekly. It's disappointing enough if you don't see the results you want on a weekly basis so I couldn't take the daily fluctuations.

    Awww don't let this get you down. I know you don't want to hear this, but be careful with weighing in every day. I know people who do it and it doesn't effect them. If it gets you down, maybe weigh in every 2 days or something. The numbers on the scale are addicting. But it will all even out by the end of the week! Don't stress, stress adds imaginary pounds that aren't there emoticon
