smart? hardly. but maybe a grain of intelligence exists

Monday, January 20, 2014

And no, I'm not talking about my intellect, though I suppose the same could apply. Rather, I blather about three goals the Blc dictates I share. Out loud and everything.

Last round, I didn't make any such goals, from a sense of "I made them before and they didn't do me any good." Not having them didn't do me any good either, so here I go again.

As with previous attempts, they will be modest, an opportunity to actually succeed, rather than unobtainable mountains to chase.

I wil, for example, reduce soda intake, by not immediately running to the store to replace a fallen 12-pack of pop.

I will do at least 20 minutes of exercise of 5 days per week.

I will do 10 squats and 10 lunges, just to remind my legs that I care.

And I shall endeavor to stop eating 2 hours prior to bed time, which I am arbitrarily setting at midnight. I suppose I should also endeavor to actually attempt to fall asleep at midnight, but like i said, I'd rather not set myself up for failure.

So there you have them, not entirely dumb goals.

Those are wonderful goals. Aim that arrow and watch it fly. Just do your best and let it take you where you are meant to be. It may not lead you to your goal, but that's why the journey is so much more important than the destination. You can never fail when you are traveling down the path in healthy living.

I love it. Frankly, I haven't gotten to the give up carbonated beverages stage. Sigh. I gave them up for years, and then, poof - they were back in my life.

I'm lovin' your not entirely dumb goals too. I gave up carbonated beverages about 6 years ago, and I can tell you it's the one thing I miss the most!!! You can do this!!!

I like that you do the pickleball thing. You introduced me to something I never heard of before!!!! emoticon

I'm lovin' your Not Entirely Dumb Goals!!!

What are you doing for workouts now that you aren't living out of a hotel? Wait! Crap! I don't even know where you are or what you're doing now?! LOL

Are you back to riding that 80's bike down in your parent's basement, listening to WARRANT??? emoticon

So, rather than immediately run to the store, you wait... how long... 20 minutes?
Seriously, though, any goals are good goals when they encourage rather than discourage, so I'm sure yours are fine for you.
