Last weekend I purchased The Spark Solution. Being a believer in Sparkpeople, I did not hesitate. I was very excited to begin reading it. I have been struggling with getting recommitted for a very long time and was at a point emotionally that was pretty low. Upon reading it's first pages, I knew I had made the right purchase. The very next morning I was motivated to recommit and rejoin the healthy lifestyle. I also peeked ahead to the recipes. I got all excited at some of them and immediately wanted to try them. I also own the cookbook which I purchased a couple of years ago.
The first thing I did was to go to bed at a decent time. No more staying up past 11pm. Sleep is very important. The next thing I did was yell at myself to get out of bed in the morning and not hit that snooze button. I'm notorious to hitting that snooze button. I told myself get your butt out of bed and do a small workout. It took a couple of minutes of yelling but I did get out of bed. I did some stretches and knee bends. For five minutes I bend and stretched. This is something very new to me as I never worked out in the morning let alone to get out of bed without hitting that snooze button. I felt good. I decided to start slow and small and will do this 6 mornings a week taking one day of complete rest. My treadmill workouts are still happening at night.
This weekend I tried my first Spark Solution recipe which was the breakfast cookies. OMG!! They are so good. I'm sitting here writing telling myself to behave and not go and get a cookie. I will definitely make them often. They are so easy and quick to make.
Today is a day of rest for me which is hard. I want to get up and get a workout in. I've been in this commitment of a week now and I've lost 5lbs. I've been diligent in tracking and measuring my food and to stay within my range. I've got into the habit to every time I put something in my mouth, I track it. Now tomorrow is the start of week two. I'm excited to start the week to see what it brings me.
Thank you Sparkpeople for always being there for me to turn to. You are my constant. I raise my glass of water to you in salute.
