Okay...

Sunday, January 19, 2014

I slept late this morning, then decided to wait to walk the dog until he indicated he wanted to go out. Well, I waited and waited, but no signs of life. He was still in bed snoozing. He finally he got up and I thought he would finally want to go out, but no... he just wanted to sleep in my lap. Around 2pm, I figured we had waited long enough and dumped him off my lap to get ready to go out. He must have been about ready, because he led the way for the entirety of our 1.5 hour walk. Went right to my SIL"s house after our walk for a big family dinner. I had forgotten to eat lunch while I was waiting for Cooper to get up, so I was pretty hungry. My SIL has MS, and controls some of her symptoms with diet, so food at our family dinners is pretty healthy these days. Lots of fruits and vegetables, with everything steamed or baked. We did have cookies for dessert, but they were still pretty healthy.

After getting 2 hours of sleep on Friday night I was concerned about how much I would need last night. I wasn't tired, and stayed up until about 2am, but then I got about 9 hours of sleep, followed by several hours of lazing around waiting on the dog. So, I am rested and recharged. I worry when I can't sleep because that can be a cause or trigger of symptoms. Thankfully that doesn't seem to be the case this time. I am still doing well.

I think our pets can sense what we need. My little dog weighs 7 lbs, but when it comes to walking, he pulls me along the way. If he had his way, we would walk for hours.

Glad you got some much needed rest.

My dog Houston was ready to go outside at 5:45 in the morning. A late day was 6:30. None of my dogs would have made it that late in the day! No way.

Glad you were able to sleep. Insomnia is miserable.

Don't worry too much about your sleep. Your body usually lets you know if you've had enough or not. (Tired, headache, hole-feeling in tummy) For almost a year after retiring, I slept 9-12 hours every night. It scared me big time, but my doctor said not to be concerned. Now for the last 3 days, that seems to have ended, because I'm waking up consistently at 7:30 a.m. whether it's been 6, 7, or 8 hours of sleep. I guess after 25 years of being sleep-deprived, my body took a year to catch up!!! So rest easy. Let your body let you know what it needs.
