Netflix exercise DVDs??

Sunday, January 19, 2014

I want to start putting exercise DVDs on my Netflix queue. If you have gotten any exercise DVDs from Netflix that you'd recommend, please let me know. I'm considering myself a "beginner" since I'm starting completely over. I am totally out of shape. I got Jillian Michaels' 30 Day Shred a couple of years ago (from Netflix) and although I enjoyed it very much, I know I'm nowhere near ready for something that intense.

I would also look at youtube and amazon prime. Amazon has some pretty great stuff for free right now if you have prime. (My current source of DVDs)

I don't have regular TV -- like cable or satellite, for instance. We haven't had regular TV in years. It's just a waste of money to me. We do have a digital antenna that allows us to get several semi-local network stations (ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS, Fox, etc -- for free). We also have an Xbox Live account that allows us to watch Netflix Instant, Amazon Prime video, YouTube, Crackle, etc...all for free, as part of the Live account...and that is only $60 per year. I also get Netflix DVDs and have gotten a few exercise videos in the past. I will check out the exercise videos here on SparkPeople....how do I find these?

    Thanks, everyone! :)

It sounds like you got some great ideas! I have and use Netflix all the time, but I have never gotten their exercise DVD's. I do use the ones here and also on my cable TV providers on demand section there are tons of workout things to do.

I get workout DVD's from Netflix pretty often. If you want to start over as a beginner, I suggest looking at the "10 Minute Solutions" DVD's. They have all kinds; pilates, yoga, cario, kick boxing, etc.

Another thing I like to do is this....after I find a DVD on Netflix that I think I might like, I go to Collage Video's website and see if they also have that particular DVD. If they do, I can watch a short clip of the workout. That really gives me a good idea of whether or not I will like it, before I put it on my queue.

    Good luck!
