Day 12 - Interval Walking

I've missed a day, so I'll talk about day 11, which was to concentrate on relaxation techniques. I've been doing a morning yoga routine for several years, and have trained myself to know how to relax. As I did my routine this morning, I noticed how much my body needed it, especially after a two day absence. The first thing I did is completely relax on the floor, and it took a while because my body hurt. It's surprising how hard it can be sometimes just to completely relax on the floor. In fact, when I first get up OFF the floor after various stretches, I still hurt, but the lasting effect is being free from arthritic and muscle pain for the day.

I'll be back to talk about Day 12...

Just got back from my interval walk, drinking my spinach smoothie and feeling virtuous. I didn't follow the plan exactly, since the guideline relied on minutes, and I do it by counting steps. One hundred steps is about a minute, but when I speed up with the intervals of hard work, of course 100 steps is a shorter period of time. I love getting out for a walk, so I can't figure out why I procrastinate doing it. Thanks to blogging accountability, I got forced out the door today.

Good job(s)! I'm glad to hear that yoga helps with arthritis. I don't have it, but I'm glad to know that. You really are doing well!

You said, "I love getting out for a walk, so I can't figure out why I procrastinate doing it." A world class runner once said that often the hardest part of his run was putting his foot out the front door. Many mornings during my fitness walking days, the only part of my long walk I disliked was the warm-up. So you aren't alone in this.

Yoga - when I could get down on the floor I loved the floor exercises, and had a hard time understanding those that didn't like them. Speaking of a good feeling and stretch, I loved the child pose.

I agree with Grace. You ARE doing Great!
