Start of the Challenge

Today is the start of the 5% Weight Loss challenge. This is the first challenge that I joined and I'm pretty excited. I've rested my knee for 4 days now so I will be starting back with the walking again this evening. I'm excited about that too. My step count is way down from where it was a week ago and even though that really bothers me I have to learn to let it go and not be so competitive with myself. I looked at the dates of the challenge and it ends just a couple of days before my birthday. One of my motivators on my start page concerns how much weight I hope to lose by this date. It is also when I return to my doctor for another health check - perhaps get off more meds. This next 8 weeks will be very important to me and I'm hoping this challenge really gets thinks moving!

On another note - went out shopping at my favorite resale shop today. Bought this gorgeous creme colored silk blouse (still had tags on it!), a cute pink cable sweater, a black&white plaid turtleneck, and the most awesome wool plaid coat that made my hips look tiny. Tiny! I had to get it just for that reason. All totaled I only spent $32. Woo-Hoo. And that is why I love that store.
