Lifestyle Action Words

So, this is my first blog as a Maize Mountaineer! I am super happy and the team is very friendly and welcoming, thank you!
Now today I'm going to blog about a list of action words and what they mean to me. Here's the list:

Mindset ~ to me mindset is the place your mind has to be to be able to accomplish a task. Right now my mindset is exactly where I want it to be - knowing that I can do anything!

Support ~ support comes in all ways. I have a wonderful support system made up of my husband, five children, sister, best friend, and everyone I encounter on Sparkpeople. I'm lucky to have such a great support system.

Visualization ~ to me visualization means letting your mind think about how you will feel and look when you reach goal. So far I do not have a specific weight goal. When I became pregnant with my oldest child I weighed 138 lbs and I know I don't want to be that small - perhaps 170ish.

Acceptance ~ I do not worry about having the acceptance of others, I worry about being accepted by myself. As long as I love me I can do anything.

Obstacles ~ for me obstacles come in the form of dance class, Girl Scouts, swim lessons, and all of the other activities our kids do. As long as I can plan around these - which shouldn't be hard since they are scheduled - I can avoid the obstacles.

Time Management ~ recently I've added another (huge) item to my day. During the day I take care of my almost 1 yo, run errands, clean, exercise, and go to college online. Now I have to add homeschooling our four older children! Yikes! But with time management and scheduling I will be able to accomplish my daily tasks.

Beyond Comfort ~ this not only applies to exercise levels for me. My comfort zone needs to be expanded. I won't go places at certain times (like the Y) because I know school kids are there. I'm always afraid that they'll say something mean about my weight but I'll just have to keep in mind that they are children and I am working towards my goal. Oh and their parent should teach them some manners, lol.

Stress Management ~ With all that goes on during my day I can get stressed. Somedays are worse than others and some are not bad at all. I usually just try to roll with what's going on because if it's not in my power to change it I'm not going to stress. Now when I do get stressed I like to hibernate in my room and read or get some writing done.

Rewards ~ I do not want to reward myself with food. Instead if I have calories left and want something I'll have it and not feel bad. I haven't chosen any rewards to give myself and I have been thinking of this.

So those are my lifestyle action words and how I see them. After looking at them I think I'm going to have to get serious about my rewards!

    I like the way you think!! I've been on this journey for 18 months and have come to the realization that pushing your comfort zone is necessary to progress both physically and emotionally. I just need to brush off comments made by others. Like you said they should have been taught manners. More importantly we can't let them determine our path. They have no idea how far I've come on my journey and let's face it at 48 and having given birth to 2 children I will never be young and tiny. I can be healthy and more importantly here for those I love. This gets easier as I lose weight and feel better, I look back in frustration at how and why I took so long to make the decision to make this journey. Look inside yourself and shine to the best of your ability! those people who really matter in your life will be thrilled at your progress!!
