Sweet Sixteen

My BABY is 16! lt really is odd how we age and have no idea until we see a photo and wonder who the old person in the picture is.

Last week my daughter turned 16.

She is a stubborn, headstrong, fit, funny, emotional, sentimental, smart, charitable, confident, driven dancer!

This makes for good days, and bad days...but nothing like her three year old self who could send me into a tailspin of self doubt as a parent!

Tonight is her birthday party. She has invited 18 kids from all cross sections of her life. It's odd because she says most of the kids she invites don't hang out with each other.... but she wishes they did as they are her "DREAM TEAM"

She is currently in grade 10 and has decided with a school group called Student Action to raise enough money to build a school in Ecuador before she graduates. If anyone can, it's my girl!

She is academic...even though her dance schedule has her out of the house six days a week, she still manages to get straight A's. Her goal for this is never to have any other mark before graduation.

How do I know this? Well because two walls in her bedroom are covered in goals, and dreams.

Down in the dance studio, one whole wall is covered in inspiring quotes. She loves the look of the written word!

What will she grow into?

Don't want to rush anything because time goes so fast, but I can't wait to see!

Happy day fellow sparkers!

Oh, your daughter sounds like such a wonderful girl! The quote and goal walls are so cool...I'm sure she is going to be a success no matter what she decides to do with her life.
