Take time to brainstorm goals

Friday, January 17, 2014

The flush valve in my toilet had been leaking for quite some time; last week it got more noticeable triggering the fill valve every half hour. My wife got a new flapper for the flush valve and I installed it. However, that did not solve the problem; and, I was determined not to call a plumber.

I looked inside the tank hoping to find a easy way to remove and install a new flush valve, but it looked impossible. However, I remembered helping my dad install a new flush valve though I did not remember the procedure. I thought of calling my friend George for advice but learned that he was preparing for a trip out of town and couldn't help. Then I remembered you could view YouTube videos on about almost everything. There, I did a simple search on that site and learned what to do, although it would not be as simple as I had hoped. After I got the parts at Lowes, I was able to install a new flush valve that evening.

Other goals like following a more healthy diet are similarly covered in YouTube (as well as on Spark). In YouTube you could look, for instance, under "Healthy Eating ..." and about 30 categories to choose from come up (actually more than I cared to count). So if your planning to diet and havn't found a solution, there are thousands of ideas in Spark people and YouTube. So if you keep at it and don't give up, something that you see or read will eventually come to your mind as being the right thing for you. It is just a matter of brainstorming day after day. Keep on Sparking and success will follow.

You tube does have lots of helpful videos, and some that are just entertaining! It's good to remember for things like minor home repair, I will keep that in mind!

Also, I've been thinking I'd like to learn to juggle, bet there are you tube tutorials for that too!

Good reminder. I have watched woodturning videos, quilt binding Youtube and how to pluck eyebrows.

Everything is out there.

I love You Tube. I've learned how to do so many things by watching videos there - when I first got contact lenses, I had a lot of trouble taking them out. You Tube saved me!

Good for you!
