Day 17...Cup of Coffee.. (T-348)

Friday, January 17, 2014

emoticon Thank you sooooo much for all your encouraging words. I am the WORST at going to the Dr., so I am very proud of myself for ACTUALLY showing up for all these appointments. LOL

emoticon I've given up coffee...or I should say that I'm in the process of giving up coffee. I don't actually remember the last time I drank a cup. But my idea is, that when it's all gone in the house, then that will be my final cup. And this morning I made a cup, and the first sip was like I was 'home' again. hahaha. How can coffee be so powerful?

emoticon Coffee is a trigger food for me...just like this picture shows the donuts beside the coffee...that's what happens with me and coffee. When I drink coffee, I don't want healthy stuff like fruit to go with it.....I want cake or cookies...The coffee's best friend.. LOL..

Anyway. I've got a good hold on my new 'way of life', so this one cup isn't going to break me. But I must admit, it's a nice 'occasional treat' on a cold morning in Seattle.

emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon Since starting back with my freggie smoothies, I really feel great. I have no doubt that they are good for the body. And it's a great way to get my raw fruits & veggies in, at least until I've mastered a healthy eating plan that includes plenty of them. Right now, I don't think I could 'eat' that much fruit & vegetables'. But this way I get them in, in a quick, good tasting, drink.

emoticon Time will fly. This year is going to be the year. It's going to go by quick, just like ALL of them do. But this time, when December arrives, I will be in "ONEDERLAND" and in good physical health. (with all of you right there too!)

Then it's emoticon time!!

I will never give up my coffee. I LOVE it more than sweets! If the day comes that I cannot have caffeine, I will drink decaf (which I DO drink once in a while if it is later in the day).

Since you have figured out that coffee is a trigger food for you, you are smart to give it up. Have you considered some of the herbal teas? There are so many wonderful flavors now and you can find them right in the grocery store.

June, you are right about time flying. I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY do not want to be kicking myself later for putting off what I need to do now. It seems like every summer, I started out sad because I was regretting that I did NOTHING all winter to lose weight. I want to be excited this summer. emoticon

Keep going June! emoticon - emoticon - Connie

I never thought of my coffee drinking as a trigger for anything. I love both coffee and sweets, but to be honest, I don't like them together. Leaves a bad taste in my mouth (literally). But the ups and downs of the caffiene could certainly cause highs and lows in my moods which triggers cravings for sweets. Hummm. This is a very interesting thought. Thank you.
