So I will be 41 in 2 more days. I decided after Christmas that it was time to get in shape and work out at least 3 times a week. I have been doing pretty good with that so far, may not be a long work out but I am exercising.
My next goal after New Years was to lose weight and keep it off by forming better eating habits. Long term goal is to lose 20 pounds and keep it off for good. To accomplish this, I decided to set up a series of short term goals. My first goal was to be less than 140 by my 41st birthday. My second goal is to weigh 135 by Valentines day. Next will be 129 by St. Patrick's day. Then 125 by May 10 (a cousin's wedding). Final goal of 123 by June 3rd when we leave for our Florida vacation.
After that goal is met I will have the goal of maintaining my weight loss within a 2 pound range. I will work on that on vacation and afterwards. This ties in to my other goal of weighing 123 for our cruise at the end of June (No, we don't normally do two vacations a year but there are special circumstances that made this happen this year).
Once home, I will have the summer to exercise, maintain my weight and learn the habits to do so.
I know it will not always be easy and I think I have planned well in case I fall short or have a bad week.
I am loving the new recipes I am finding and I am trying really hard to look at food in a different way. Trying to do as much all natural as I can, trying to cook my own foods over buying a frozen meal. I am finding a good balance with this.
I am learning to listen to my body more and actually following what it is telling me. I have noticed over the last two days that I am starting to eat slower and take smaller bites - always a problem for me. Little things like these are what is motivating me lately to do better.
Normally I say these things but don't do them. Seeing them written down really changes how I am looking and approaching these goals.
