Just a quick blog to thank my wonderful Spark friends for sending me well wishes for my husband, either by leaving a message on my page, commenting on my feed, or giving me a goodie. I appreciate the care and concern so much!

For those who don't know, my hubby was having stomach pains, which he thought was indigestion. He took some antacids but the pain didn't go away. It steadily got worse. I wanted him to go to the emergency room, but he wanted to wait to see if he'd get better. But finally the pain got to be too much, and he let me drive him to the ER. Turns out, he had a ruptured appendix! They rushed him to surgery, and now he is recovering.

Having a ruptured appendix is a serious thing, so he's going to be in the hospital for 5 or 6 days. My oldest son has moved back home for the time being, just so I'll feel safe. (What an awesome son!)

Hubby is going to miss at least two weeks of work, which means no paycheck, but we'll get by. I'm just glad that he's going to be okay.

Thank you again for your concern and prayers, Spark friends. I am so grateful for you all!

So glad your hubby is doing better. It is quiet understandable that when one is under severe stress the hormonal changes that take place cause cravings for "junk food". Now that the crisis is over it will be easier to back on track. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

You were lucky to get to hospital in time - this kind of thing gets very serious very quickly but is a safe procedure if it is addressed quickly.

I am so pleased to hear that everything is now OK and things will be back to normal relatively quickly.

Cheers

Trev

Gee, Pixie, I'm glad he's ok now and receovering. You know I've heard this often happens to this appendix. I've heard this story at least a half dozen times. I don't really know what causes it.

Take care to both of you, and I'm glad your son is there to help. emoticon
