On Monday Jan 13, 2014 my husband was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes at age 29, talk about an eye opener. I myself am pre-diabetic and my family is heavy laden with type 2 diabetes on not one but BOTH sides. For the past 11 months I've been on Weight Watchers and have lost a total of 57lbs however I lost that back in Sept and have yo-yoed since then. So with my husband being diagnosed and me with pre-diabetes I knew we needed to make even a BIGGER change. So I opened up a sparkpeople page for my husband and a new one for me as well so we can beat this together. It's so new to him that it's taking him a bit to get his eating leveled out, he started at one extreme (eating WAY too much) to hardly eating at all since his diagnosis on Monday. But has made many WONDERFUL changes. I have too, since Monday I started worrying more about my calorie intake and not just that but also what kind of calories I'm taking in. It's just what my body needed a jump start to better eating. So here it is 5 days later I'm eating very healthy feeling better and the scale shows 5.8lbs down this morning. I hope to see a lot more of my weight coming off in these next months and see myself get out of the pre-diabetic stage into something totally more healthy and in the opposite direction of the diabetic stage range. So I'm ready, hit me with what you got!
