January has started my New Year with all sorts of joy. Our DS and DDIL continue to send pictures almost daily of our new granddaughter. She had gained almost a pound in her first two weeks of life! The pediatrician described as "flourishing."
On January 4th, I began the last 100 hours of my yoga teacher training. After 8 days of twice a day yoga practice (about 90 min in the morning and 45 in the afternoon), hours of class work... feeling overwhelmed with information by the 4th day, we had a wonderful graduation brunch on Sunday. Our teacher introduced each of us personally and we had an opportunity to briefly talk about what earning our 500 hour yoga teacher certification meant.
This week a local free magazine called YogaIowa published their winter issue which featured a great story about kids yoga and pictures from one of the kids classes I teach.
Tomorrow, we fly from St. Louis to Tampa to begin a Western Caribbean cruise. Never been on a cruise and have some trepidation about all the food, but I also plan to continue my early morning yoga practice and follow it with a swim.
BTW.... I will be out of Wi-Fi range the entire week (Jan. 19-26), not because the ship doesn't have Wi-Fi, but because it costs like crazy.
I will be back home for a week and then out to D.C. Our DS has asked me to come help his wife with their new baby as he has to travel to Asia for business. He and DDIL make sound as if I am doing them a great favor. What.... a favor to spend two weeks with my six week old granddaughter.
