my 60 lb. weight loss journal Part 1- The first 10 lbs

Thursday, January 16, 2014

about me:
I'm 5 foot 7.5 inches tall
my start weight was 190 lbs
my goal weight is 128 lbs
I would settle for 135 lbs (because I know muscle weights more than fat)

today is (week 1) day 6 of my workout goals to lose 60 lbs. for me the goal of 60 lbs seems more attainable if I break it up into 6 separate 10 lb goals I started out at 190 lbs today I weighed 184 lbs emoticon that means my workouts are paying off I'm down 6 lbs!! emoticon and I'm down a total of 5.5 inches I am proud of myself!!

I cut out the following:
mindless eating
all sweats/junk food
over filling my plate with food

I've added the following:
4 times this week i went on a walk/run/jog
3 times for 3 miles
1 time for 1 mile
I've been lifting weights nothing to heavy just 10 lbs but I do 2 sets of 20 reps on 5 different types of arm and shoulder workouts with dumbbells

my challenges:
I'm so embarrassed to workout in front of people
red bull slowing down on red bull is going to be a rough road
mindless eating while I read (I'm guilty)

my highlights:
so far I only have a few highlights
1.) im motivated
2.) I have lots of energy
3.) I'm seeing progress

Good job! I used to feel that way about working out in front of people, but then I had an honest conversation with myself about the importance of getting over my fears and "shame". When I started working out at my gym I weighed 332lbs and probably looked out of place, but going to the gym keeps me accountable and having lost 75lbs makes me know I made the right choice. Health over feelings...

Yay! Good job! I must confess that I'm smaller than you, but still deeply afraid of working out in front of people. I would encourage you that if you can't kick that right away, there are tons of ways to exercise outside the gym. But then maybe you're better than me and you'll just get past that. Wishing you fabulous success. You're taking excellent steps!

You are doing terrific! Give yourself a pat on the back. It is all about making one choice at a time, one day at a time. Keep it up and your will make it to your promised land. emoticon emoticon emoticon
