More Self-talk

Thursday, January 16, 2014

Day 11 of the video series.

What I choose to take away are these thoughts:
emoticon Old habits are strong and established. It takes a fight to replace them.
emoticon Keep your goal close in mind and before your eyes.
emoticon Things you say to yourself have consequences, good or bad, depending on what you say.
emoticon A fear and scarcity based mindset keeps you micromanaging small stuff rather than responding to greater opportunities.
emoticon Stop looking for shortcuts. Make the changes needed.
emoticon When you feel like a victim, fight back with self-talk.

My three statements to write and repeat:
1. Temporary hunger is not a crisis.
2. Food is plentiful, so I don't have to eat it all now.
3. I am able and willing to do the work required to be fit and healthy on an ongoing basis.

This self talk concept is so valuable to me too: and I like the statements you're using, what could be better?

Tough but not harsh: my view too.

    Well said.

My 3 beliefs to program into my mind are: (1) Getting fit is simple but not easy.; (2) I can do this!; (3) I am doing this and will continue to!

I liked his analogy of the robot (subconscious mind) and judge (conscious mind).

I find myself looking forward to the videos. Half expected to feel like a scolded child with a drill sergeant working me over. He's tough but not harsh in presenting this.

Your statements are good and solid! It doesn't get any better than being "willing and able to be fit and healthy on an ongoing basis."

Love it - talk away - but choose those words carefully! Sounds like you are making a good plan. emoticon emoticon

good attitude, you can do this, and increase your protein if you find your self being hungry between meals/snacks.
