It's been two years, but I'm still here.

Wednesday, January 15, 2014

It's been two years since I've posted a blog, almost to the day.

What have I been up to? Well, I'm still on this weight loss journey, but the successes have been more than the failures lately. I'll never say that I have all this thing all figured out, but I'm looking at it in a different way now. Before my focus was always & solely on weight loss, now I'm truly focused on healthy living.

I started back running in August & joined a Biggest Loser competition at work, which I won. I then broke my toe last month & have yet to get back to running. It's healing slowly, but surely. Despite the time off from running, I still go to the gym daily, doing 45 minutes of strength training. I have continued to lose weight.

Now in the time of fasting - I'm doing a Daniel Fast - I hope to focus more on my spiritual & mental well-being: the whole package of health along with the physical.

I feel for you about your TOE.
I have broken toes 12 or 13 times!
    I know, I know...wear SHOES.
In how many ways can you break a toe?
    Well, judging from MY experience:
    1. Drop an old fashioned HEAVY iron on it.
    2. Miss the LAST step on the staircase, land on your big toe while being 8 months pregnant and carrying a two year old. hm. (stupid?)
    3. Ram a chair leg between your two toes. (multiple times)
    4. Drop a typewriter on it.
    5. Do a martial arts kick on your son. (hit him with my BIG toe side and actually BROKE the pinky! weird!
    need I go on?

Good job on blogging, I haven't posted a blog in a long time either. I'm getting back into running, I didn't do any races last year and I gained most of the weight back that I lost so I'm planning on doing a race in June, hopefully that will help me lose weight! What is a Daniel Fast? I've had a bad few days of eating horribly so I hope to turn it all around this week! Hope your toe heals so you can get back running but at least you're still getting in your workouts!
