The day 10 FatLoser video is a 20 minute commercial for personal development or self-help books, CDs, MP3s, and DVDs. Any self-help resources, not just Steve Siebold's.

"Actions are dictated by our beliefs." His contention is that we should repeat things to ourselves several thousand times so that we come to believe those statements and thus act on them. I'm withholding judgement on that, but I'm still listening to what he has to say.

He wanted us to list 3 beliefs about weight loss and fitness we'd like to change or upgrade. I modified his examples to read:

1. I eat for health instead of just for pleasure. ( ALL eating is pleasurable for me.)

2. I always stay within my calorie range. (Mostly there, and I track it so I KNOW that I do.)

3. I exercise because I want to, and I love the way I feel afterward. (I've got the second part of this, but not the first.)

I hope your day went well. I'm late blogging today because I had time to exercise OR blog this morning, and I chose to exercise. (Patting self on the back. I guess I DID want to today.)

    I agree that you deserve that pat on the back for exercising before blogging.

    We are just about halfway through this 21 day course. It's certainly been a help to get me back on track after this holiday season.

    Of course, self talk is how we get that mental toughness going. It's very important.

    Yay for exercising! I always exercise FIRST and then that makes me want to blog because I am feeling great afterward. What exercise/activity do you really LOVE? Maybe you haven't found it? I like a nice enjoyable walk to music or with a friend or a leisurely bike ride when the weather is nice. A soothing yoga class feels great in the winter. For me, Zumba dancing is my favorite exercise! The music is great, the class is pretty social and I have fun Zumba clothes I purchased for dancing. I definitely exercise better with classes. I hope I have offered something helpful.

    emoticon Lot of thought material from him; each of us needs to take what we can use from it and let the rest go by. On Day 1 I wondered how many videos it would be before there were sales pitches. Same thing, we can follow through with purchases or let it go.

    Good for you on prioritizing!! I'll be doing less sparking when we leave on Monday for a month, but I'll be working my program #1 and then checking in #2 even though I'll be on a team challenge. The work and family comes first now that I'm committed. (you are VERY committed and I'm so proud of you) I don't know about eating for health instead of just pleasure- I'm discovering that I find pleasure in healthy foods. If it doesn't bring pleasure, I won't eat it. I'm sure there's more to it. Have a good evening. Hugs, Sandi
