The wheat gut is back.....

Wednesday, January 15, 2014

I was doing so well before I took that emergency trip to Kansas....then came making meals from hospital cafeteria offerings (which at KU Med was not hard at all as they are excellent in every way), too much fast food, and too many temptations offered up when visiting family members. My wheat belly is back. I haven't been strong enough yet to cut back like I need to. That ends today. I'm drawing the line.

We're in the middle of a typical hot summer, with the added fillup of intense heatwaves. I just washed all my nice light summery clothing in preparation. Well, tried on my favorite dress and it's a no-go til some of this belly goes away. I mean, I could wear it but my vanity would suffer. ;) "And it shook when she laughed like a bowl full of jelly".....umm, no.

I am heading back to Kansas at the end of the month. At first I thought there'd be a lot of sitting around just keeping my dad company, driving him to doctor's appointments, etc. Turns out he's made an offer on a smaller lakefront home so I'm guessing there'll be packing and sorting to do. My brother from Oregon is coming to Kansas on Feb 5th, then my son is flying over on Feb12th which was the original plan before the accident in November. The bro, the son and I head back to Oregon on the 19th, then son and I are on the plane back to AU on the 26th.

I'm glad there's a chance of activity while I'm away. I'll most likely be doing the cooking for everyone, and noone is fussy so I can feed them well and they'll be happy. I'll be happy too. And I've got my thermals in the wash right now, ready to go into the suitcase so I have no excuses about getting outside if it's still cold.

With all this travel planned, is it good for you to also plan a diet?? Just don't want you to set yourself up for failure and frustration.

Bonnie, I AM a lot like him. This fact scares my daughter. She was with me in Kansas for part of the time and they spent many hours together talking. She just about fell over when she recognised certain expressions on me. ;)

Hey gf~ *hugs* So happy to see your smilin' face back at SP! *hugs* YES! And besides packing those thermal underwear, so down to the local Y and stay outta that ridiculously cold weather. We've thawed here in Texas, but I don't know about Kansas.

Here's a SP friend's blog you needed to checkout. She's been juicing, and when I get enough $$$ together, I'm gonna get a nice juicer and begin juicing, too.

Anyway, glad you've got a plan of action. Good for your Dad, too! Glad to see he's not just sitting around. I bet you're a lot like him? *hugs* BB~ emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
