So something I've started doing is at night once I've prepared our dinner, I go ahead and dish up "leftovers" for my lunch for the next day before serving up our meal. Then, there is less left for the three of us to split, and then I dish up our meals in near-appropriate portion sizes. I have loved doing "portion control" like this. Then I also have my lunch for the next day and don't have to go out to eat and it's a near-appropriate portion size also! My husband isn't real thrilled on the smaller portions, but he is very supportive. We've also had a lot more leftovers which is nice because then I'm cooking less/using less dishes the next night which helps with our busy evenings.
It's windy and chilly here again today, and I haven't gotten out for my walk yet. Had my cardiologist appointment this morning that went fine and my supervisor is here for the next couple of days (she's officed about 2 hours from us). But I'm hoping to sneak out here in a few and brave the chilly wind for a refreshing walk.
I'm ready for my husband to be home! He wrote this really sweet note for me to read to our daughter last night. She ran through the house wanting to show it to him so I had to explain again where he was. Then she carried the note to bed with her and fell asleep holding it. Melted my heart! She grabbed it first thing this morning and carried it around until we left for school. She misses her daddy!
