Just keeping my head above water

I am feeling pretty frustrated at the moment. I keep on pushing my negativity down by using positive actions and affirmations but it's still there. *deep breath* Time for some straight talk. I have put on weight...
What annoys me is that I don't know why the numbers on the scale have increased. I am doing okay with exercise and eating. In fact I have increased my exercise minutes. I haven't fallen into calorie creep. I have been drinking water and eating healthy food.
I have noticed that I have become very critical of myself and my appearance. I am impatient to get to my goal weight and now I have stalled.
I am going to spend today acknowledging my fear and frustration. Hopefully if I sit with the negative feelings, they may help me to find a way out.

Any suggestions? And here's the big one, when do I alter my ticker to reflect the gain? Lol!

    Hi, perfect timing as I know you just read my blog and I went through a similar thing. Your advice back to me was perfect for yourself also! I have learned that God made me just the way I am and He doesn't make mistakes - once I realised that in my heart of hearts I suddenly started to love myself no matter what weight I carry. Very powerful revelation for me and I hope you get it too as it will put an end to any lack of self esteem. One thing it might be with you (and possibly with me to) is muscle gain - muscle weighs more than fat. My photos reveal to me a more athletic body despite 2 kgs weight gain. Meanwhile a few days later - this morning I have now dropped off one of those kgs by being super good these last few days, drinking lots of water and tracking food. Prior to that I wasn't tracking and I know my calories were excessive on a daily basis - no wonder I gained weight. We can do this together. Sitting with the negative feeling is something I also do so that I can get to the root cause of issues. Don't let the negative feeling defeat you however. Have a lovely day! emoticon

    emoticon Hang in there, Luv. It IS frustrating to stall and gain, and it's a also pretty common occurrence in a weight loss course. But look at the terrific progress you've made! It will happen again.

You probably already know muscle weighs more than fat. Sometimes it's hard to really believe that, but I know it's true because I've gained a few pounds while losing inches when muscle tone improves.

Since joining SP I've learned about Dr. Fuhrman's Eat to Live program. When I get stalled and I'm serious about a jump-start, I go on his 6-week plan for just one week and have lost as much as 6 pounds of bloat, etc.. I add a little lean meat or fish to it as the original plan is vegetarian, and if you're exercising a lot, adequate protein is esp. important. But every body is different.

As for the ticker, I reset mine to next mini-goal instead of ultimate goal. Thought that might seem more attainable. Good luck and stay focused!

    I know how you feel. I did the same thing a while ago, I got sick of mucking around and started doing the Cura Romana, am getting rid of all the excess weight, and quickly. No time for self analysis or character assasination, I'm getting on with it and finding it, basically, easy peasy! I'll worry about maintenance when I get there.
You will find your own way through, my advice is just make it as easy on yourself as you can, support yourself as well as you can, and throw out the belief systems that aren't getting you to where you want to be.

    Most likely your body is trying to build muscles, maybe you are losing inches instead of pounds..don't let that scale get to are doing great...Keep Pushing!

    emoticon look at all the accomplishments you have made! They count for something! Try switching your routine up a bit, maybe eat some different foods to wake your body up. I had to be honest with myself and change my ticker. It went up 11.5 pounds, thats okay I know what I need to do and can do it. For me changing my ticker was the 1st step in getting back on the right track. good luck. emoticon

    Sorry you are going in the wrong direction. Believe me I understand since I have steadily gained weight all last year. As for changing your ticker it is up to you. I finally faced facts this week and changed mine. I am not happy with how much weight I gained but I won't cry over spilt milk. I did it one and I can do it again. Good luck!
