January 14 - Good day yesterday

Hi all,

My weight is definitely up since the holiday. I think it's a solid 5 lbs up since I was feeling so good about myself, right before the break. I hate that that really shows so much on my face and stomach.

So, I feel good to at least finally have one "good" day under my belt for the new year, in terms of fitnessing. It's been hard for me to get motivated to make any changes to my indulgence up to now, despite knowing the negative consequences I already have.

My birthday is on the 2nd (the big 30), and then immediately afterward my guy's parent's are visiting and I'll be meeting them for the fist time. I would really like to be feeling not so uncomfortable in my clothing for both of these things! I know there isn't much you can do in 2 weeks but I also know the outlook change that can come just from being on track again and feeling positive.

I can only do what I can do.

SO, yeah, yesterday was good! I did the Monday downtown run 5k that I used to do religiously. I haven't done it in a few months, as my workout class that I have been taking conflicted with it. I'm really excited that my class will start up again next week and it will be on Tuesday/Thursday this year so that will leave me free to do my Monday running/walking again. I find that very motivating!

It was a challenge after not running in so long, and almost no exercise over the holiday/since, so I took it easy, and just went at my own pace. I like doing that! Any running is good! 3 miles of even walking is great!

I am feeling positive about cooking at home and diet outlook, which as we all know is really so key to all of this.

Last night and today I had egg salad on lettuce and spinach. I finally calculated the egg salad recipe and was kind of amazed that the calories came out to ~ 700 for 6 eggs worth the way I like to make it! As long as that's in a couple or more sittings that's really not bad, certainly not as bad as I would have thought eggs in may would be.

Here's to all of use making positive changes in 2014! Slow and steady wins the race of life! haha :)

    I'm sure you can do a lot in the next 2 weeks! And like you said, the positive feelings you get from making the right choices, will help you have confidence! You can do it!

    You can start something AMAZING in 2 weeks, you've already put in the hardest steps! Make the last 14 days count! I hope you feel absolutely amazing when you get to meet Lee's parents! Excited for you!!!!
