Today the doctor said my eye that has been injected is improved over last month (I could see the difference from across the room). Also, I am glad my new distance glasses showed a huge improvement in my corrected vision from 20/50 to 20/25 which is fantastic. My left eye was tested as 20/20, so apparently my eyes were working at improved condition over last month. Without glasses my right eye was tested at the glasses store 20/200 and corrected to 20/40. 20/200 means I was not able to read the top line of the standard eye chart.
I am so grateful for improvement in my vision with the Avastin shots. I read on the Mayo Clinic website that the shots are helpful for approximately 50% of patients, so I am in the "good" 50%.
My eye doctor said hopefully the time between shots can be extended but for now I get the shot every 4 weeks.
I was late for my appointment because it had snowed about 5 inches and my cab ride was an hour late. Luckily, my doctor told me to come late rather than reschedule.
My eyes were dilated, as usual, so I have shades on and am going to rest in bed soon. I also plan to sleep in late tomorrow which means I have scheduled for today and tomorrow off work.
