They went to a good home

Tuesday, January 14, 2014

Hello wonderful community,

I was so surprised yesterday as your comments came through immediately, giving me so support. I stopped there and then. I know that you all have been there. I do struggle with throwing things out as it is such an awful waste but knew that I had to get them out of the house. I must admit I have never flushed any tempting food down the toilet.

I went to the bins to throw them out and my elderly neighbour who was also at her bins, saw me with the big fancy box in my hands, and asked me what I was doing? I sheepishly told her of my temptation and asked if she would like them. She was over the moon, as I also found out that they are her favourite chocolates. So in two weeks I know what to buy her for her 80th birthday.

So all worked out, they did not go to waste and put a little smile on her face emoticon

THANK YOU EVERYONE, I REALLY APPRECIATE EVERYONE REACHING OUT WITH YOUR ADVICE

Glad you are following along with 100 Days of Weight Loss, I'm starting to really get a hold of the ideas. I wasn't sure I could learn too much from the book but I appreciate the help because even people in their weight range can benefit from proper eating tools. I sometimes eat funky so I need the ideas so I can right my system back to where it should be.

Life is funny, if you had not gone to throw them away you would not have made someone else's day and in a few weeks birthday. You certainly were the winner in this one. I guess that is what happens when we let go - we receive.

How awesome that your elderly neighbor was able to have a wonderful treat that you were about to throw away. Isn't it wonderful to make someone elses day a bit brighter, you make her so happy----good job, and the temptation is no longer a problem--double wonderful.

YEAH!!!! GOOD FOR YOU!! So proud of you!! What providence! What a great idea - talking to your neighbor - and telling her truthfully - and letting her share her love ... it's all just perfect. (And - I also have an 80 year old neighbor ... your post makes me think it's time for us to have a cuppa together again)

It isn't the chocolates my friend, it is the fear of letting go of the old you. We all suffer with this. We are all so darn attached to who we think we are.
