WARNING TO TOPSBEAR... do not read, this will NOT make you happy that you live in the boonies...

Well, Valu Village had 1/2 Price today, so you know where we went. I did get a couple of neat things... a pair of those warmup slippers that you heat pieces to go in the bottom,, MIL was looking at them at Walmart and said they were like $25 ?? I paid $2.... And I got a great stand for holding a book/recipe card.... great to hold a text I am trying to copy down some notes out of to footnote a research paper... and also 2 balls of sage green wool for 75 cents each....

And my grocery store shop was even more fun..... I got chocolate ice cream, ice cream sandwiches, 12 pk pudding, 2 margarine, 4pk of yogurt, crumpets, 6 salmon burgers, pkg chicken weiners (Buddy's), cheddar sausage stick, bag baby carrots, 2 tomatoes, 4 bananas... and (drumroll please) - after I cashed in a $20 point reward... all this came to $1.20....... WooHOoo, and I have another free $20 on my reward card for next time..

And, with CDA (Cdn. Diabetes Assoc) that I have been dealing with did send me 28 weeks worth of one of my diabetes drugs for free... ask and ye shall receive...

So, my exercise today was walking around the stores...but you did see I bought my nemesis - ice cream.... chocolate brownie, though emoticon

emoticon emoticon Love when we get those bargains! I've never walked out of a grocery store with only spending $1.20 - I'm jealous. My daughter from NS is here checking in with her doctors. She, too, said it was unfair that the Value Village there had 1/2 off. I was telling her that it's a good thing that you and I don't live nearby - we'd always be bargain hunting. But, then again, I know we'd get our steps in.

That was one great shopping trip - WOW!!! But step away from the freezer, Lila ... Step away from the ice-cream. It has been contaminated! Seriously! I "think" I heard on the radio that some dude, disguised as Spark Guy, has contaminated all ice-cream in every store all over the world! OK, maybe I heard wrong, but will you take the chance that I did?
Too BIG a chance, my friend, so just walk away .... That's right .... just walk away .... emoticon

Congrats on your smart shopping! I avoid at all costs all but grocery shopping, and do nearly all from my computer - didn't get the shopping gene, I guess. :) But I do respect those of you who DO go out and gather! Well done!

Super Shopping, Lila! Why not pre-portion 1/2 cup servings of your ice cream so you can include them in a healthy eating plan? Just dip them up and place the balls separately in a freezer bag. Would that work for you? Wishing you health and happiness as you enjoy your warm feet and other finds!! -Marsha
