On Saturday, I posted 5 goals for the week. I didn't blog yesterday, but today I'm going to check off to see which goals I've done and which ones I need to work on.
Goal 1: Exercise 5 days per week -- I did yoga yesterday and today I am going to the gym
Goal 2: Floss -- Yup! Right on target!
Goal 3: Apply to 1 job each week -- Not yet!
Goal 4: make bed every day -- Yes! And I washed my sheets yesterday so I'm really appreciating getting into a clean made bed!
Goal 5: Read before bed -- Yup! I like to peruse a few different books at a time and last night I was reading Dhamapada (a Buddhist text)
I had a particular intention when I was setting each of these goals. I didn't just want to view them as things to do or things I should do. There's a reason behind each one. Here goes:
Goal 1: My intention to exercise (be active) at least 5 times per week is for mood improvement, self-esteem, stress relief, weight loss, and general health
Goal 2: Flossing is on this list because a) I should just do it, b) it's beneficial for oral AND heart health, and c) it helps me to establish an evening routine which is great for relaxation and taking the time to honor myself.
Goal 3: Applying to 1 job per week helps me to stay focused on creating a better future for myself. Chances are, no one is going to hire someone who already has a full time job, but it's important for me to put myself out there.
Goal 4: make bed everyday: creates a sense of serenity, creates a ritual
Goal 5: I've been working at finding peace and reconnecting with myself and having some time at the end of night to just explore through reading is great!
