Today is day 19 of my current streak!

Over the holidays, I was blessed to be on a private challenge team with a great group of Spark friends. We were there to support and encourage each other as we did our best to stay on track during the holiday season, and to make as much progress as possible by New Years day.

To be honest, I normally gain around 10 lbs every holiday season...yikes! But this year was different. I didn't LOSE any weight, but I didn't gain either, so I am very happy with that! Thank you to all my Spark friends on the challenge who helped me to stay motivated and on track!

The Healthy Holidays Challenge team was great fun, and such a success. So I've decided to do another challenge starting in February. This one will be a countdown to Spring. We will once again focus on making progress as we support each other!

This month, I've been doing the Coach Nicole 28 Day Boot Camp DVD, which is a great workout. Next month when the new challenge team starts, I'm going to do the Boot camp workout again, and some of my fellow challengers are going to join me. I'm really looking forward to that!

By the way, as of today (January 13) there are 65 days until Spring! Imagine how much progress you can make in that time! The time is going to pass anyway, so why not spend it by being your own hero? That means eating right and exercising...making healthy choices, one day at a time. (Because you're worth the effort, you know!)

I picked up the Biggest Loser boot camp DVD from the hospital on Saturday and finally got to use it this morning. I did levels 1, 2, and 3 and all I can say is WOW! It is nice to have the change. I still have the power sculpt DVD which I might use at night if Elijah doesn't go to bed too late. I definitely felt good after my workout.

Avoiding a gain over Xmas in my mind is a MASSIVE success - no doubt about it.

We have almost got half way through winter and we are yet to see a true frost so when compared to my north american friends enduring ridiculous sub zero temperatures I consider myself pretty lucky by comparison.

Great blog as always coupled with some great motivational quotes done the fantastic way you know how.

Cheers

Trev

Need the reminder about spring in Minnesota - it is hard to think of things in a glass half full type of way when you haven't seen many days above freezing since December!!!

NOT gaining over a holiday, celebration or vacation IS SOMETHING TO BE SO VERY PROUD OF. You don't have to lose every day to be successful on your journey. emoticon

Personally I think it does a body good to just coast for a while now and again. You can lose weight and you do lose in in some areas first before others. but then it can take up to a year after for all the weight to finish shifting around and become normal.

Yeah, I'm beginning to get spring fever too. Especially the last few days, as we're having really mild weather (after that deep freeze). Time will pass fast now and soon will be spring.
