And now for something completely unrelated to my previous blogs.
Back on October 14th I came back to sparkpeople to start a program to lose weight. During the initial setup I selected a goal of being down to 240 pounds by April 30th, 2014. That would be a total loss of 49 pounds in 6 months. I wanted to make it an achievable goal because I wasn't sure I could do it, stick to it, and be successful at it. I figured with that goal even if I slipped up here and there I could still do it. I had great success in the beginning sticking with my meal planning and tracking food and fitness. I lost weight every week except for one week where my weight stayed the same but I never gained. At the time I wasn't planning nor did I have any idea that I would be getting divorced but I ended up being presented with that challenge. There were many days I ate very little or didn't eat at all in the beginning weeks of the separation and divorce process. Because of that my weight loss was much more significant then it would have been, there was one week where I actually lost 9 pounds.
Well today I weighed in and lost 2 more pounds, seems like I should be losing more because I never come close to eating my daily allotment of calories but there's eight more sticks of butter that are no longer part of my body. I'm happy to say that with those two pounds I have now achieved my goal that was set for April, a full three and a half months earlier than planned. So woo hoo for me but now I know it's going to get tougher to lose weight.
So I've set a new goal, I'm keeping the April 30th date and the goal is to lose 20 more pounds by then. I think it's achievable but I'll need to start doing more to make it happen. During the last few weeks the divorce process has sent me into a deep depression and I completely stopped the daily fitness routine I was doing. I need to get back on track with that and starting today I'll do at least 20 minutes of cardio and hopefully 30 minutes. Since I haven't really done anything in a few weeks I'm not sure how long I'll be able to workout but I'm hoping to be back up to 30 minutes a day by the end of the week then back up to the 40 minutes a day I was doing by the end of next week. Small attainable goals and taking it one day at a time.
Hopefully this will make it so I lose at least one pound this week because once I lose that one pound I will have reached 50 pounds lost which is a nice thing to be able to tell people.
