Virtual walk update, Sunday, January 12:

Sunday, January 12, 2014

Walked 26.91 miles this week and am just two miles from Cam, a large Gloucestershire village. Cam is only one mile off the Cotswold Way, the long-distance walking path I'm following for this part of my walk. Today's temperature in Cam was 7, with clear skies.

The Cotswold Way twists and turns, climbs and then descends, but there is always something to see. To the west, since I am on an escarpment, the ground drops sharply, while to the east the lovely honey-coloured stone villages often appear. I miss the Cornish pasties, but am enjoying the wonderful Gloucestershire cheeses and the occasional pint of cider.

As always, I'm fascinated by some of the place names, including Old Sodbury, which I passed a couple of days ago.

Thanks for reading,
Gail

I just finished my breakfast and still my mought watered for the pastries and cheeses...I love food. No wonder I am a "round" person. I know just because you love does not mean you get to have your love. Sometimes your love just has to stay on the other side of the window, in another world.
Stay inside and off the ice!!
Keep COMFY & SAFE, my friend,
